Guardian EMS provides professional non-emergency ground transportation for appropriately packaged and released organs, tissues, transplant-related specimens, blood products, and approved transplant materials when the requested movement can be completed without emergency vehicle operation.

Guardian EMS does not currently provide emergency organ transportation, lights-and-siren response, or emergency traffic exemptions.

What we can transport

Transport capability with clear boundaries.

Acceptance is subject to the shipment being appropriately packaged, labeled, sealed, and released by the responsible healthcare or recovery organization.

Potentially accepted

Guardian EMS may consider kidneys, livers, pancreata, corneal/ocular tissue, donor tissue, transplant-related specimens, recovery materials, and other approved transplant-related shipments on a case-by-case basis when they arrive properly packaged, sealed, and fully self-contained for transport. Guardian EMS does not provide vehicle-supplied temperature control, electrical inverter power, medical air, or oxygen for these shipments.

Not provided by Guardian EMS

Hearts; any shipment requiring active temperature control supplied by the vehicle; any shipment requiring inverter or other vehicle electrical power; medical air; oxygen; emergency vehicle operation; lights-and-siren transport; police-escort emergency movement; aviation transport directly operated by Guardian EMS; organ recovery; clinical preservation; packaging; transplantation; or other clinical transplant functions.
